Let me Try Foresight (PC Game on Steam)

Today's RTS options are rather limited and i was hoping Foresight would change this. Sadly it dose not...let's get into it.

I am going to let you know from the start that the game feels rushed and unfinished. It feels more like Early Acces rather then release material. It has forced vsync... which creates mouse lag... in a RTS game this is not acceptable. You can work around this... for nVidia users you can create a profile for the game in the nVidia control panel, and force vsync off. This will resolve the lag issue and unlock the frames.

There is NO controls menu.. so never-mind changing keys on a PC tittle... you can not even see what the controls are... and the tutorial dose not do the best job of pointing them out. The voice acting in the game is nothing short of terrible... it would have been better with text only. The graphics... are bearable for a tittle of this price but i seen better graphics on games that cost half as much. The AI dose not prio attacking units from structures and it just mindlessly plunges ahead shooting the first red thing it comes across regardless of whatever else it has around. At least this is what i found from the first 3 missions which is all i could go through before being to frustrated to continue. This is mostly because of the awkward controls and the lack of information about the controls. Because i did not play past the third mission i can not speak to the actual strategy in this game... what it prioritizes, what are its values or what approach it takes. It's not all bad... there are some good ideas here. The squadron / fleet concept is very interesting from my perspective and so is the sector mapping, the artwork presented in the cut-scenes is top notch! But all of these pale if the gameplay hinders the player. I do not know why Strides rushed this tittle out...but i got a sneaking suspicion (the usual reason)

I hope they will be allowed to continue the development of this project and that in time we will get a decent RTS out of it (at least...) For now however i can find no justifiable reason for spending 23 euro on this version...maybe if you are really REALLY passionate about RTS games...maybe then. What else can i say... another sad day for RTS fans...unfortunately we kinda got used to it by now.

Let me Try - Congo: The Game (PC Early Access on Steam)

Congo is a top-down Co-op Action horror survival game where you have to complete objectives while fending-off hordes of "demons".

Along the way you will need to gather resources such as weapons, ammunition, revive kits, compasses, maps ? and so on and so forth.
If you ignore the boxes of resources you'll quickly find yourself either dead from a severe case of lack of bullets or that you can not proceed because you forgot to pick up a pair of pliers or a canister of gas.
From my time with the game i can tell you its much more fun with friends then in single player (just make sure your friends can shoot straight...)
So, the best recipe is to gather a few mates grab a pizza and have a go at it.

The boxes containing resources are randomly generated adding a bit of replay value... so you will not know where to get X tool or Y weapon.

The "something is coming" feeling is well felt mostly because of the sound-work, the tropical white-noise plus the vegetation displacement sound effects are done very well and relay the intended message to the player.
The graphics are decent for a game of this price, delivering on what it's suppose to while being nothing special. The animations are "off" if you ask me but i hope this aspect gets some attention during the early access stage.
There are no checkpoints which i found, so if you mess-up and die you get punished for it and have to begin from the start of the mission. I detest the current hand-holding trend so this is a big plus for me.
The camera did play a few tricks on me but considering this is early access i expect this to be resolved by launch. Camera can always be tricky in these top-down games....not my favorite.
I do hope they add more levels, more objectives and a much larger variety of enemies to fight, the monkeys do get boring after a short while.

In my opinion it looks decent for a Early Access Tittle, much better then many others that come along asking much higher prices.
I did not run into any game-breaking bugs, just a slight pop-in here and a slight stutter there.
I did not play a ton of the game so take all information given here with a grain of salt and as always judge for yourselves if this tittle is worth your time and money.

Let me Try - Dragon The Game (PC Early Access on Steam)

Dragon wants to be a open world RPG where you play a actual Dragon and can evolve over time.

The concept details moral choices for your character ( yes.. the dragon) and loads of customization. There are good signs of things to come but today (09/11/2014) there is no reason i can think of that anybody should pay the obscene asking price of 18 euro. You can not charge such a price for a product in this state, even IF it will evolve over time.
Being a very ... VERY early access the game is filled with bugs and glitches, expect everything.

What can you do today (09/11/2014) in the game ?
-Fly as a dragon (when it dose not buggout)
-Use flame breath to burn down buildings

I honestly hope that this tittle will become something great, but that day is not today (09/11/2014)
I will check back on this tittle when updates are available and maybe do a follow-up video if i think it's warranted. In the mean time you can check my initial impressions video

Let me Try Magnetic by Nature (PC version)

So what is Magnetic by Nature ?

It's a puzzle platformer centered around one mechanic. Magnetism.
You can attract yourself to these magnets or attract them to you in order to position them properly to pass through the level. You can repel yourself off them or repel the magnet itself into a favorable position. Depending on what series of levels you are doing there are additional mechanics that interact with the magnets to offer more gameplay variety.

How dose it "feel" like ?
How can i describe this to you... it feels.. relaxing...harmonious if you will. It gives off a vibe i only found in Journey (yes i'm willing to go that far!)
The graphics are simple but classy and don't steal you away from the game itself and the music sets the "laid back" atmosphere of the game.

What am i supposed to do ? Where is the difficulty ?
Enjoy the experience, just sit back in the comfort of your chair or couch (fully playable with mouse and keyboard, keyboard alone and 360 controller) and just go through the game without trying to achieve anything, just go with the flow.
Tiered after a long day at work ? had one of those days ? Want to take a blunt object and re-arrange your bosses anatomy ? Fire-up MBN and unwind, belive it or not it can work wonders.
The difficulty dose not come in the shape of "how hard it is to pass a level" but in "how fast can you finish a level".

Story ?
Through a short but heart-warming intro that shows a little robot all alone and sad because he cant reactivate one of his robot friends MBN got me more interested then triple-A 5 minute intros. I genuinely wanted to repower my sad looking robot friend. Can't get that feeling in CoD now can you ?...
That's all i have to say because i don't want to spoil anymore.
In my opinion this is how "lore" should be done in a platformer, short, to the point and effective. Not many people play platformers for the lore, most do it for gameplay... don't you ?

My thoughts ?
It's one of the few original releases i seen all year.
Considering the price, the feel, the look and the new mechanics... It's a no-brainer.
If you chose not to give it a shot then you will be missing out on a great experience.
