Akarius Build 2019 (Guide) - Needlessly Gimped (Warframe Gameplay)

Gauss's trademark secondary weapon brings homing rockets that can deliver high amounts of area of effect damage at the cost of some serious usability issues.

The Akarius is a burst weapon that will fire two homing rockets in quick succession. The rockets lock-on to the torso section of the nearest target making aiming lose and head-shots very difficult as-well-as specific target selection. In order for the rockets to arm, ten meters worth of flight time is required. This "feature" is put into place so that self-damage is less of a concern even thou some warframes could benefit from this aspect. Once armed the projectiles will detonate upon contact in a five-meter radius dealing blast damage.

Critical stats are very low and Harrow interactions are also discouraged. With all that and the weapon can still pack quite the wallop but the final nail is the super low ammo capacity of thirty, effectively fifteen shots. I don't understand why the developer felt this was necessary and I hope that a future patch will expand this ridiculous ammo pool. Given the very low amount of ammo Carrier doesn't do that much good but in normal missions facing low-level targets, this should not be an issue as you're going to constantly pick-up ammo off the ground.

Long story short, The Akarius is a cool weapon that can deliver a punch but is hindered by a few usability issues. If you're looking for something that has an automatic lock-on feature than this is a solid option but if you don't care about this mechanic than feel free to skip this weapon entirely.
