Akmagnus Build 2018 (Guide) - Power and Usability in Harmony (Warframe Gameplay)

There is no shortage of options when it comes to Dual Pistols in Warframe, you have the very popular in the form of the Akstiletto, Akbolto and on the other side of the popularity spectrum we will find The Akmagnus.

Hey guys, hello and welcome back, my name is Ani and today we will be diving deeper into a secondary weapon that most of the time gets overlooked. With a mastery lockout of 12, the Akmagnus can be the ideal compromise between power and usability, as such, we will assume that you already know the bare minimum, but we are also going to be covering some of the basics, so if you are a veteran of the game please bear with us. Now, I will hand you over to Leyzar and the Akmagnus.

First we are checking out how the weapon handles without any sorts of Mods equipped.
I'm gonna be using maximum Fire Rate, so you can see exactly what this weapon can do. At Max Fire Rate their accuracy really isn't all that good ... but on the other side the recoil the Akmagnus possesses ... is quite manageable. So by all intents and purposes, it shouldn't really bother you that much, as long as you're not firing at full fire rate.

Now, let's take a look at the stats, and see exactly what we're dealing with. First of all, we got an accuracy of 11.1 ... Now, normally secondary weapons can have a lot more than this, but when it comes to Dual Pistols, this is really not that bad, as a norm of course. Critical Chance is quite nice at
22% and we have a multiplier of 2.0 X, which again, is decent; Fire Rate 6.17 by default and we can amplify this even further ... but the question is ... will it be a wise idea or not? We're gonna find out a bit later.

Magazine is 16, Noise - Alarming of course, and reload 2.4. Now, I always see reload coupled together with Magazine; It's pointless to have a high Fire Rate if I don't have the Mag for it, or at least the reload for it, so there's that to take into account. Riven disposition 4 out of 5, as the Akmagnus currently is not a very popular weapon; Status Chance, once again just like Crit Chance, 22%, and again I would call this one decent; By default it does Impact, Puncture and Slash Damage; Notice that the Puncture and Slash are roughly around the same level, and the impact is highest.

Now if I was to stick on Maim on to the Akmagnus, the slash will be highest out of all of them, and you guys can try to make a slash build out of the Akmagnus. I tried my best, but it simply wasn't good enough, not as good as an elemental standard damage build, which is what we're gonna be building today, because again it is most effective.

If you guys got the Mod Capacity 30/30 then jump into actions and install an Orokin Catalyst. You'll find this one from alerts invasions, or if you're lucky, from the daily sortie; More often than not you're probably gonna have to pay 20 plat for it thou.

I have formatted my weapon a total of 6 times, but this was done for the purpose of testing, and all sorts of combinations - you should be able to get away with 4 forma for the weapon build I'm gonna be recommending you, so let's slap on some Mods.

First thing, as per the usual, is gonna be Damage with Hornet Strike - this is a mandatory mod and fully maxed out we're gonna get 220 extra damage - we do have a couple of additional options as well: you can go for something like Augur Pact, which will give you only 90 damage, and you also of course have the benefit of the set bonus. In testing I simply couldn't fit this one into the Akmagnus since there are much better options.

Magnum force - you might be thinking about this one - now this is a devious kind of mod, it will give you fully maxed out 66%, only 66% extra damage, and it will reduce your accuracy by 33%; On the Akmagnus is definitely not worth it. So for damage, for now, we're just gonna stick with Hornets Strike

Now we're gonna further amplify the Crit Chance and of course the Crit Damage because, like I said, we do have decent stats there...
