Soma Prime Build 2018 (Guide) - The Master Slasher

For the longest time the Soma Prime was considered the best Assault Rifle in Warframe. Things change in time and other weapons get released but the Soma is still one of the best primary weapons in the game.
Hey guys, hello and welcome back. As always, my name is Leyzar and today we’re going to be diving deeper into a Mastery Rank 7 Assault Rifle,The Soma Prime. That being said, please keep in mind that my builds and guides usually follow more of a New Player Friendly approach, simply because I want anybody watching this video to understand how the weapon functions, and how it should be built, so if you're a veteran of the game and already know most of the basics then please have a little patience.

And with that out of the way, let's jump into the Soma Prime. First off let's check out how the weapon handles without any mods equipped. I'm going to be taking roughly 30 meters away from the wall and start spraying. As you can see  in the video, the recoil isn't all that bad on the Soma, it barely moves around, however the accuracy isn't anything to write home about. I put in the wall about a hundred and twenty bullets and there are a few which are outside of the crosshairs, and this is only about 25 - 30 meters away from the target. However, we do have an outstanding fire rate. Stats analysis can be found in the video below.

What kind of built are you going after? Do you want an elemental build or do you want the Slash? Of course today we're going to explore both options! First an elemental build, so let's make some Corrosive.
We're going to build Corrosive because we are testing against Grineer. Now, Grineer are heavily armored targets and they have two armor types: they either have Ferrite Armor, which is reserved usually for their more heavier units, such as heavy gunner, and they also have Alloy Armor. Now, Alloy Armor you will find on Butchers … yes the guys which are easy to kill, but you also find them on Bombards, so there is that to consider. In any case, against Grineer, the toughest targets in Warframe, your best bet will be Corrosive. - The 90 mods, which offer more damage, or the 60 / 60 mods, which offer less damage but a good fair chunk of status chance. It is true that the status chance of The Soma by default is only 10%, we did pump it up to 23.2 … but that is Multi Shot status chance … so keep that one in mind.

After all the stories about this weapon I was expecting to be impressed and The Soma Prime did not disappoint. I fully tested the weapon with a classic elemental build as-well as with a Hunter Munitions / Slash build.
