Phage Build 2018 - The Beam Shotgun (Warframe Guide)

Beam weapons are some of the strongest option you can currently go for, and the Phage is no exception to that rule. Throughout this build guide we will explore all the possible viable builds that the weapon has, including a one hundred percent status chance build and a bleed build which makes use of Hunter Munitions as-well as Arcane Avenger. While testing it soon became apparent the going for full status chance will yield betters results then forcing the weapon into critical chance and critical damage.

Hello and welcome back, as always, my name is Leyzar and today we will be diving deeper into this Mastery Rank 11 primary weapon - The Phage.

As per the usual, we will be starting by checking how the Phage handles without any mods equipped, and a short analysis of the stats.

First of all, Mod capacity is 60 out of 60, and if your Phage only has 30 out of 30, then jump into actions and install an Orokin Catalyst. The Orokin Catalyst can be found from alerts, invasions or, if you're lucky, from the daily sortie. If you don't have access to the daily sortie just yet, progress further through the story and you will.

Next, my weapon has been format a total of six times, but this was done for the purpose of testing. By default the Phage comes with a "-" or Naramon Symbol, which I removed and made into a V. Don't ask why ... you shouldn't really remove it, I simply had a whole bunch of different Rivens to test. The rest of the stats analysis, accuracy, crit chance, fire rate and other useful info you can find in the video below.

Continuing with our excerpt, let's take a look at the mods:

Damage is mandatory, and we're gonna go with Point Blank - 90% extra damage. If you have Prime versions, then by all means, go for Prime versions. There's another mod that I tend to call mandatory but not 100 % - Vicious Spread - again 90 % extra damage, just like Point Blank, at the cost of 60% spread, and you saw on practice how that one works.

Next, we're gonna go into Multi Shot. How the Multi Shot effects work on Beam Weapons anyway? As you saw here I added Hell's Chamber, with 120 % Multi Shot. Though my status chance did not go up, even though I know I am firing multiple beams out of the weapon. In essence, Multi Shot effects for beam weapons increase the weapon's damage, however they apply to the modded weapon damage value, not of the base weapon damage value ... so basically this applies after Point Blank and Vicious Spread, so keep that one in mind.

To find out more about the recommended mods, the base build, Blaze, Bleed build, Riven setup and other useful information please check the video down below: (including the testing)

Conclusion:As always the option is yours but I would recommend looking into a Status Chance Riven so you can play with elemental damage better and get rid of any unwanted combos such as Blast.
All and all the Phage is an atypical beam weapon with some interesting mechanics that has some build diversity and in my opinion totally worth the build (for the novelty if not anything else)
